when the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie that's amore

Making pizzas on a Saturday afternoon. I'm one of the types who can't seem to decide what to put on my pizza so I usually settle for everything. I am a somewhat organized person so I like to separate my pizza into different sections. My Italian tomato, basil, mozzarella, and sun dried tomato section, and my pizza-cheese, red onion, bell pepper, and broccoli section. Both came out deliciously. The light was hitting the kitchen just right to get these lovely photos of my creations.

hunger hurts and i wanted you so bad

So I went a tad crazy photographing my beloved new cookbooks and Le Creuset (dutch oven), but with my new camera and new items, i just couldn't help myself. I cannot wait to cook with both of them, pictures to follow for when I do.

i like that old time rock and roll

Hello all you lovelies! So this past Holiday I received a beautiful high quality camera and with it I cannot seem to keep myself from taking zillions of photos. Usually the photos turn out mediocre of items such as lamps or myself posing in the mirror (mirror selfies: guilty!) but on occasion I can catch a real nice picture worth looking at. I've only included on here because the rest are somewhere berried in the bowls of my computer,  but I have to say it's one of my absolute favorites. It's a small portion of my record collection passed down from my dad. If you look closely you can see an upside down Beatles record. I'm not quite sure how I got the haziness of the photo captured so well, and I can't seem to duplicate the effect yet. I'm still learning the ins and outs of this newfangled technology, but it is very entertaining. Some recipes and other things I got over break are yet to come. Love, Maia

and the days go by

(Blouse: Target $16, Shorts: Garment District $15, Belt: Forever 21: $7, Music Note Toms: Ebay $52)

This was taken a couple weeks ago, back when the weather still held the essence of summer, hence the shorts. I love high waisted anything, I truly think that this generation is missing out on the totally clever idea of high waisted clothing. It extenuates your waist, while making your butt look good, elongates your legs and hides any tummy you may have. Yet, it isn't just for "old ladies" because of its convenience at hiding and supporting. It looks inventive and super cute, plus it gives "Shorts and a tee shirt" a whole new meaning. Crop tops and no six pack? Simple. High waisted shorts paired with a crop and your good to go.  I wish more stores carried them, because it can be a struggle trying to find a pair that fit and look good in thrift shops. My trick is to not only look at the shorts, but to look at the jeans also. If you find a pair of 80s mom jeans that fit you at the waist, but perhaps not in the leg area, you can cut them to make a really cute pair of shorts. Of course this method does not help in looking for high waisted full length jeans, in which I am currently seeking. If a pair of authentic high waisted jeans is found retail, it usually pretty nearly breaks the bank. Thus, my hunt continues for the perfect pair of high waisted denim before autumn goes full blast.
If you find a pair, I would appreciate it if you let me know :) Love, Maia.

I Don't Want to be Alone

This beautiful kitty comes to visit me every day and sleeps on my porch swing. Unfortunately this kitty does not belong to me, as she belongs to one of my neighbors, but when she's bored, which is often, she will come to my house in need of a rub on the belly. She is very friendly and sweet and and I call her kitty, as I do not know her given name. Sometimes, after a day of being out, I'll come home and find her asleep on a chair in the shade of my porch, looking cozy and darling. Seeing as I do not have a pet of my own, it is very kind of this sweet creature to come and visit me so I do not get lonely. I believe everyone needs a furry creature to cuddle up with now and again.

Beach Baby

This is my foot. You are probably wondering what "that white stuff" is in the shape of a heart that is painted on said foot. Well, I had heard from a(n) [unreliable] source that one could get a tan in the shape of whatever they paint on their foot with sunscreen. So I did so (as shown above). I painted a heart (as it is the easiest thing to draw) and waited 4 hours in the hot sun without removing the sunscreen. When I took a shower later that day and washed the sunscreen off in the process, there was no heart shaped tan lines to be found. Therefore I conclude that trying to acquire a suntan in the shape of something that you paint with sunscreen on your body does, in fact, not do anything at all.

I took these pictures back in March (I know, lazy for not putting them up sooner) But here they are, me in my March glory thinking it was oh so warm. The past few days have been heated. My bedroom was nearly unbearable, but its raining now so hopefully that will cool things down a bit. My Birthday is this Wednesday :) I'm very excited, I have always loved my Birthday. I will post what I wear on that day, something special considering the occasion ;) For any of you that have a Pinterest and are interested, you can explore my boards under: Maia Anne. Enjoy your week!
